With my office being located directly across the street from Rockville center city campus of three courthouses and the Montgomery County, Maryland's Executive Office Building, my primary focus is trial litigation and dispute resolution.  This focus necessitates significant in-court work -- including criminal defense work, estate litigation and contract disputes.  I have successfully handled (among other types of legal proceedings) jury trials, administrative hearings, child custody merits hearings, adoption proceedings and federal court lawsuits.  I also have handled state and federal appellate cases.

A significant portion of my practice centers around the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland and the District Court of Maryland for Montgomery County, the latter of which has courthouses in both Rockville and Silver Spring.  I have also appeared as counsel of record in almost all of Maryland's state courts; including, the Circuit and District Courts for Prince George's County (in Upper Marlboro & Hyattsville), the Circuit and District Courts for Frederick County (in Frederick), the Circuit and District Courts for Howard County (in Ellicott City), the Circuit and District Courts for Anne Arundel County (in Annapolis & Glen Burnie), the District Court for Baltimore County (in Towson), the Circuit and District Courts for Baltimore City (in Baltimore), the Circuit and District Courts for Carroll County (in Westminster), the District Court for Caroline County (in Denton), and the District Court for Worcester County  (in Snow Hill).

Furthermore, I have an extensive and growing federal court practice in the United States District Court of Maryland.  I have appeared as counsel of record in the federal courthouses located in Baltimore and Greenbelt, as well as the former Park Police federal docket in Hyattsville and the federal courtroom located at Andrews Air Force Base.  Last year, I appeared for oral argument  before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit at the federal appellate courthouse in Richmond, Virginia, in a case that was reported as United States v. Allen & Reinhardt, 491 F.3d 178 (4th Cir. 2007).

I have been rated "BV" (Very High Legal Ability, Very High Ethical Standards) by  Martindale-Hubbell, the foremost national rating service of American lawyers. This "BV" rating is important because it is an outside confirmation of my status as a highly respected, ethical member of the bar.
